~ In Loving Memory ~

This page is dedicated to those one-of-a-kind friends that have held a special, forever place in our heart.

Don't Cry for the Horses

Don’t cry for the horses, That life has set free
A million white horses, Forever to be.

Don’t cry for the horses, Now in God’s hands
As they dance and they prance, To a Heavenly band

They were ours as a gift, But never to keep,
As they close their eyes. Forever to sleep.

Their spirits unbound, On silver wings they fly.
A million white horses, Against the blue sky

Look up into heaven, You'll see them above.
The horses we lost, The horses we loved.

Manes and tails flowing, As they gallop through time,
They were never yours... They were never mine.

Don't cry for the horses, They'll be back some day.
When our time is gone, They will show us the way.

Do you hear that soft nicker? Close to your ear?
Don't cry for the horses, Love the ones that are here.

      Crackerjack

04/14/82 - 10/18/08

We were honored to have Crackerjack with us for 23 years. We purchased him as a young 3yr old and he passed at 26yrs. He will be sorely missed. No other pony could pack a little girl around with such fun & kindness.

This pony was special to everyone, but Laicey, Beverly's granddaughter depended on Crackerjack allot. Her first horseshow, her first trail ride and her first time competing over fences was on Crackerjack.

There will never be another Crackerjack.

     Panama Traveler

            15.1h, Dun  AQHA Gelding

Passed on Christmas Eve, 2003 at the age of 26

Loyal & Devoted Friend of CRA for 15 years

Bobbie Sawyers (trainer at Cardinal Stables) & Her Husband were united in marriage at The Vineyard Camp on horseback. Traveler, was the Grooms Mount. What special memories we have of this kind fellow!

He's My Cherry Pie aka: Banjo

14.1h, Sorrel Quarter Pony Gelding

Passed in early 2007 at the age of 6

Loyal & Devoted Friend of CRA for 2  years

Banjo was a great pony at pony camp. He would walk/trot around for any litte kid. He would trot over a little crossrail course with the most novice of them all. Banjo went to be a part of the program at MacNaires Country Acres in 2006. In 2007, he passed with heart failure. A follow up determined it could not have been predicted or prevented. We will miss this lovely guy!

Scout

13h, Paint Pony Gelding

Passed March, 2004 at the age of 33

Loyal & Devoted Fiend for 20 years

Very special pony. From Trail Rides to Horse Shows, Scout was the "Perfect Pony" for anyone! This pony has made an impact on the lives of more children that I can count. Scout was especially important to Codi Kuhlman, Beverly's Grandson, as Scout was his first pony and we were all very sad to see him pass.

Star

15.2h, AQHA Liver Chestnut Gelding

Passed September, 2003 at the age of 16

Loyal & Devoted Friend of CRA for 10 Years

Stars' passing was especially traumatic for us. Star was just 16 years old, healthy, vibrant and happy. Star had never had any health problems. We stepped out one morning to feed, and there he was, he had passed in the night. An autopsy had shown that Star had accidentally inhaled a foreign object, later to be identifies as particles from an alfalfa cube. The particles had entered his lungs and caused pneumonia. This was not your typical pneumonia that occurs over a period of time, you start treatment etc. This was caused by the foreign particles and developed at an incredibly rapid rate, just over a 24-hr period the pneumonia develops and  death occurs. Star had no chance. This form of pneumonia is fatal and there are no current treatments.

Little Red

13.2h, Sorrel pony  Gelding

Passed 2003 at the age of 31

Loyal & Devoted Friend of CRA for 15 Years

We were all very sad at the passing of Little Red. He was a special pony to many children and we will always remember how kind and gentle he was.
