~Horse Aerobics~

 

 

 

 

 

 

Horseback riding works the following muscle groups:

shoulders, triceps/biceps, abdominals, back, inner & outer thighs, back of the calf.

†Go horseback riding for a few days and you'll understand why all those rodeo Marlboro men types pack Men's Health abs. Riding stimulates seldom-used muscles in the dorsal and abdominal regions and brings many core health benefits.

‡ Riding is hard work. Do not neglect being aerobically fit. This is something you can gain from riding itself. Consider the following experiment a rider recently did. Wearing a heart monitor, & having her husband hold the monitor reading device, she got on her horse. Her normal resting heart rate is 48 to 54 (low). As soon as she began walking her horse, her heart rate went to 75. At the trot it went up to 120, and when she cantered, it was 140. This is in the aerobic range for this rider.

Fitness Experts & Aerobic Machine Manufactures are paying so much attention to this fact, that they have now marketed horseback riding machines!
